Gambling is one of the most common sins in the world, and there are different types of gambling like dice game, lottery, bingo, slot machines and others. It is said that gambling has existed for thousands of years. It is said that it started with the first man who decided to gamble with the fruit of his labor. But now gambling is considered as a very serious sin and it is said that it is the root cause of many diseases and it is also responsible for several crimes and scandals.
So, if you are a gambler or you want to stop gambling then here are some verses from the Bible which will help you to understand what does the Bible says about gambling.
Proverbs 1:7
“Do not trust in your riches, for riches will fail you if you rely on them.”
Ecclesiastes 5:10
“Do not be envious of evil men or desire to be with them, because their hearts plan their ways.”
Proverbs 11:9
“The LORD abhors dishonest scales and he detests dishonest weights.”
Proverbs 21:20
“He who loves pleasure will become poor; he who loves wine and oil will never be rich.”

1 Corinthians 9:25
“I do not mean that other men should be stopped from working, because they don’t eat food offered to idols. We know that an idol is nothing at all in the world. And if someone eats food offered to idols, he is guilty of no sin. But if someone takes the food to his house, he will share it with those who have the right to it, and God will see to it that punishment comes on the man who eats the food. For we can testify that everyone who eats this bread will live forever.”
1 Corinthians 10:31
“If we say that we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice what we preach.”
1 John 1:9
“If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.”
